I just read a Dair post that states that Dan was not cruel to Vanessa while they were dating. In fact, this…entity… explained that Vanessa was in the wrong and the reason for the collapse of their relationship since she chose to go to Haiti (for her career) and thus put strain on their relationship. Dan was flawless. Apparently his unwarranted disgusting behaviour as a misogynist pig, selfish douche, user and his inability to remain faithful is either forgotten or not relevant.
At this point, I give up on the human race.
You know the worst part? I’m not even surprised.
Hmm… Who was it that put a strain on his friendship with Vanessa by declaring himself and demanding that she not only feel the same but also enter into a relationship with him? Ah, yes. That was Dan. And who was it that immediately ran to Serena’s “nice smile and daddy issues” as soon as Vanessa wasn’t living up to the expectation he dreamed of in his mind? Oh, right. Dan. And who, pray tell, repeated this EXACT SAME PATTERN with Blair two seasons later? OH, MY GOD. DAN.
“I’m a pusher, guys. I pushed my best friend to become my ex-girlfriend, I push myself into countless stories where I fuck over my friends, I pushed Blair to get past hang ups like her best friend/sister and her true love in order to rely on only me, and I’m going to push you because I know you’re smarter than this.”
-DHumps, every day of his life.
1.13 - When Dan first tells Serena he loves her, she says “Okay,” and Dan says, “Okay? Okay is not the response.”
3.12 - When Dan tells Vanessa that he loves her and she brushes him off, he says, “That’s not the reaction I was hoping for.
5.22 - Dan tells Blair, “I love you, you know that don’t you?” And Blair simply says, “I do now.” In the next episode, he says, “Blair I told you I loved you and you pretended like you didn’t even hear me!”
5.13 - Serena tells Dan she loves him “always have, always will” (albeit, the line was stolen from Nair), and Dan sort of blows her off. Obviously he doesn’t have to feel the same way, but he was so insensitive.
My point is, he holds a double standard. He gets upset for Blair pretending that she didn’t hear him, but he does the same thing to Serena. He holds girls to a certain standard, especially when he told Serena, “Okay? Okay is not the response.” The same thing with Vanessa. Dan seems to say those three words to a lot of girls and gets upset when they don’t say it back to him, however, he doesn’t treat them with the same courtesy.

THE FUCKING CREATOR OF GOSSIP GIRL. THE FUCKING MOTHER GOSSIP. “NO CHEMISTRY.” BOOM. SUCK IT.

Coming out of that dream and into the arms of Dan, that was our goal. Here was this guy who has stood by her and been her friend and supported her. She realizes that he has these really true and honorable feelings for her and only wants what she wants for herself. They found each other.

If he hadn’t said “Dan” I would think he was talking about Chuck and Blair.
Amazing.
