“That is what I will never understand: they screwed Carter and Jenny up to prop NS, which they then destroyed to prop DS, which they then decimated to prop DB, which they then completely erased to go back to CB just like they always knew they would. So why ruin the other characters and relationships so disastrously, then?”

Because "Chuck using his mother's birthday as a secret code is [actually] brilliant" —Aylo

  • Intruder 1: Let's try his mother's birthday?
  • Intruder 2: Which one?
  • 1: The dead one.
  • 2: How am I supposed to know a dead women's birthday? Plus, he didn't even know her.
  • 1: Ok the one who abandoned him?
  • 2: I heard she was getting some from his uncle, it can't be her.
  • 1: Ok then the British one?
  • 2: Dude, banging his bff, that would just be weird.
  • 1: The mother on paxil?
  • 2: You know what's interesting about her? No one ever saw her and was only mentioned one time ever.
  • 1: That's so strange.
  • 2: I know right? It's like she never even existed!
  • 1: Alright, what about the adoptive mother?
  • 2: Look, this getting a little confusing. I'm confused. Are you confused? Let's just move on.

Dear EXECUTIVE PRODUCER Sara Goodman, the Non-Judging Breakfast Club was not invented by the fans. It was coined by Blair Waldorf.

I’ve seen the premiere, and it also feels like the characters are often together more than they have been in a bit, too.

SG: We really wanted to bring back that BREAKFAST CLUB, working together, non-judging, I think is what one of the fans called it…the non-judging BREAKFAST CLUB kind of feeling, where no matter what they’ve been through together, when push came to shove, they were there. They are family, they are there for each other. That being said, those things are going to drive the season. Who’s going to be together, who’s not going to be together, including Blair and Serena, which is another of the primary relationships that we went back to this season. (x)

LOL, Josh Safran wrote 1.17, which is where the phrase originated. Has he been demoted to “one of the fans?” (x)

how-brightly-you-shine:

Amy Kaufman: It’s one of those classic, epic love stories. You don’t come upon those often either in movies or television, where the audience is so committed to their relationship.

Stephanie Savage: Chuck and Blair, of course is a huge storyline for us and something that was a little bit surprising. You know, they have no relationship in the book whatsoever. So that was really something that’s kind of unique to the series and I think a lot grew out of Ed and Leighton’s chemistry with each other and just the fun of writing scenes with those two characters.

Josh Safran: I wrote the first one where he wouldn’t say it and I wrote the last one of that season where he finally said it.

The Safran Chronicles - Episode 1 (The Right Goodbye)

Gossip Girl using indirect promotion instead?

In case you missed my ramblings on Twitter, I stated as passing sarcasm—after most of us fangirls complained for the umpteenth time about the lack of promotion for the show in its FINAL season—that maybe they were doing some kind of indirect promotion instead.

Lo and behold, the evidence kept cropping up. If you got more, let me know.

Kristen BellI honestly thought @jimmykimmel took our friendship more seriously. He’s off my christmas list for sure.
